Dr VVS Prabhakar Rao is a distinguished Radiologist with 50 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as a Consultant at HCG Cancer Centre, Chinnagadili, Visakhapatnam, he brings a legacy of expertise shaped by years of service across India’s leading medical institutions.

Throughout his career, he has managed more than 4,100 complex medical cases at renowned centres like the Army Medical Corps, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Hyderabad), MNJ Institute of Oncology and Regional Cancer Centre, and Omega Hospitals.

• DNB in Radiotherapy from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi in 1990
• Diploma in Geriatric Medicine

His work has been published in esteemed journals, including a notable paper on Paget’s Disease, titled “Pathological Fracture with a Difference – Scintigraphic and Radiological Characterization.”

Dr VVS Prabhakar, a radiology doctor, was honoured with the Brig S.K. Majumdar Memorial Oration Award at the XXXI Annual Conference of the Society of Nuclear Medicine India (1999) for his oration on “Imaging in Transplant Nephrology – Present Status of Nuclear Medicine.”
