Dr Subbaiah completed his MBBS from Andhra Medical College, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 1992. Following this, he finished his MS in Orthopedics from Guntur Medical College, Andhra Pradesh, in 1997. Further enhancing his expertise in spine surgery, he undertook a prestigious fellowship at Schulthess Klinik in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2001.

He continued his advanced training as a Clinical Fellow in Spine Surgery at Huddinge University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden, in 2002 and later served as a Specialist in Spine Surgery at the same institution from 2002 to 2005.

Dr G P V Subbaiah has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions. The Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI) honoured him with the Basic Science Award. The District Collector of Guntur awarded him a Certificate of Commendation for his exemplary service during a major train accident. He is also a respected member of the Scientific Committee for the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Orthopedic Association.

Dr research includes innovative studies such as "Europium Hydroxide Nanorods (EHNs) Ameliorates Isoproterenol-Induced Myocardial Infarction: An In Vitro and In Vivo Investigation," exploring novel therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular diseases. His clinical study on "Line Probe Assay in the Rapid Detection of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Complex in Spinal Tuberculosis" has implications for more efficient diagnosis and treatment in patients with spinal tuberculosis.

Dr Subbaiah has also contributed to understanding rare complications in spine surgery with his publication on "Two Rare Cases of Adjacent Segment Infection (ASI) After Posterior Stabilization and Fusion in Patients with Thoracolumbar Burst Fracture.
