With 40 years of experience, Dr A S V Narayana Rao is a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. With a passion for education, he served as the coordinator for the DNB Cardiology teaching program at Mediciti Hospital, Hyderabad and Global Hospital, Hyderabad.

Dr Narayana Rao completed his MBBS in 1983 and MD (General Medicine) in 1988 from Guntur Medical College, Nagarjuna University, and further specialised with a DM in Cardiology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, in 1993.

His excellence in cardiology has earned him fellowships such as FICC (Fellow in Indian College of Cardiology) and FESC (International Fellow in the European Society of Cardiology), along with membership in the prestigious American College of Cardiology.

Dr Rao has been actively involved in research and academic activities, serving as a co-investigator in significant studies such as the CREATE study, which examined the effects of Reviparin on mortality, reinfarction, and stroke in acute STEMI patients, published in JAMA in 2005. He was also a co-investigator in the Polycap and Metafor studies and is one of the authors of the book Radial Pearls, a practical handbook on radial intervention techniques.

He has participated in numerous state, national, and international cardiology conferences as a faculty member, presenting challenging cases of coronary interventions and sharing his expertise.
