Dr. Ritabh Kumar

Dr Ritabh Kumar is a Director Orthopaedics and Chief of Trauma Services at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre. He has 32 years of experience and serves as a Member of the Executive Board at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. From 2012 to 2014, he was a Senior Consultant for Trauma Services at Max Hospitals. Following this, he became the Principal Consultant for Trauma Services at Medanta – The Medicity in 2014.

Dr Ritabh Kumar completed his MBBS from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 1992, followed by an MS in Orthopedics from the same institution in 1996. To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Kumar pursued an MCh in Orthopedics at the University of Dundee, UK.

In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr. Ritabh Kumar is also a member of the National Academy of Health Sciences (MNAMS). His international training includes a Fellowship in Trauma from the Gaetano Pini Institute of Orthopedics in Italy and another Fellowship in AO Trauma from John Hunter Hospital in Australia.

Dr Ritabh was awarded Best Intern – Rural Health – AIIMS in 1993, highlighting his commitment to healthcare even during his early training days. In 2001, he received the Best Worker award at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre. His academic pursuits were equally impressive, earning him the Professorial Award for Academic Excellence from the University of Dundee in 2003.

Doctor Ritabh has published various research papers including "The Hoffa fracture: Three case reports" in the Journal of orthopaedic surgery (Hong Kong) and "A Study of Vascular Injuries in Pediatric Supracondylar Humeral Fractures" in the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery.
