Dr. Himika Chawla

Dr Himika Chawla is a Senior Consultant - Endocrinology and Diabetology at PSRI Hospital. She has 15 years of experience. Her speciality interests are:

1. Management of thyroid diseases, metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency
2. Male infertility
3. Gynaecomastia
4. PCOS
5. Male pattern/facial hair growth
6. Infertility

She has managed several uncommon endocrine disorders such as acromegaly, Cushing’s syndrome, hyperparathyroidism and hypopituitarism. She is also an active member of the Endocrine Society of India (ESI).

Dr Himika did her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi in 2009. She also completed her MD in General Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University in 2013. She also completed her DM in Endocrinology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 2016.

She has also participated in research work and published many papers, including the "Identification of reference housekeeping genes for mRNA expression studies in patients with type 1 diabetes".

Dr. Himika Chawla has been recognized multiple times for her outstanding contributions to the field of endocrinology, including the prestigious Endocrine Society of India A.V. Gandhi Award in 2016 for the best research paper published.

She also received the Smt. Atul Keswani Merit Medal and Kamla Ghosh Prize for securing first position in MBBS with a gold medal in Medicine, and was honoured with the Dr Sudhir Rehan Memorial Award for Best PG (Medicine) at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
